I have problems writing Hebrew letters with vowel marks correctly on a Mac. But on Windows, everything works fine.
Consider this piece of code:
This code diplays three Hebrew characters with a few extra dots (vowels, Masoretic marks) surrounding them. The program must be invoked with the font name as a parameter.
I have tried this both with the built-in 'Times New Roman' font and the free, downloadable 'Ezra SIL' font from [http://scripts.sil.org/cms/scripts/page.php?site_id=nrsi&id=EzraSIL_Home http://scripts.sil.org/cms/scripts/page.php?site_id=nrsi&id=EzraSIL_Home]
In both cases, the dots are placed correctly when running under Windows, but when running on a Mac (OS X, 6.2) the dots are placed incorrectly.
I can't find a way to include pictures in this post, but please visit [http://www.tondering.dk/claus/heb.html http://www.tondering.dk/claus/heb.html] where you will see the results. If you don't know Hebrew, you will have to take my word for it that the dots are placed correctly in Windows.
I should add that this problem is not related to Java; other programs on the Mac have similar problems.

Question: Q: How do I install Hebrew fonts. Are there Hebrew fonts available in the library for iOS. Posted on Dec 5, 2015 6:19 AM. Word for Mac has never supported correct Hebrew, so it is best to use any other app: TextEdit, Pages, Mellel, Nisus, LibreOffice, etc.
