  3. Low rate MapleStory private server. Pre and post big bang.
  4. After all these years, you would think that Nexon would make MapleStory playable on Mac OS. Unfortunately, this is not the case. I have been playing Maplestory for almost 10 years, and throughout these 10 years I hadn’t figured out how to play MapleStory on a Mac – until now!
  5. Listing Mac Compatible MapleStory Private Servers. Mac-Compatible Maplestory Private Servers. Missing the old MapleStory where everything was challenging but do not miss the lack of content Old MapleStory had? MapleLegends brings the Old MapleStory gameplay and skills, but provides content from new and non-GMS regions.

NOX APP Player makers recently launch the NOX APP Player 6. It is the latest and more enhanced version. So we recommend use Nox App Player 6 to install MapleStory for PC, MapleStory for Windows 10, MapleStory for windows 8/7, MapleStory for Mac OSX and other PC systems. Follow the below steps to download and install MapleStory for PC & Windows. I am currently on a MacBook Pro. I play MapleStory using Windows 10 via bootcamp. It's all good, no problem, but I would like MapleStory to be 100% compatible with XOS like some big games, as LeagueOfLegend for example. So I could do stuffs I usually do in my Mac's partition and open MapleStory at the same time.

Maplestory Mac Download

The game Maple Story has been around a long time, and is one of the most popular free MMOs available to consumers. Numerous people download and play this game everyday, but sadly not everyone can enjoy this game.

The Mac user is left out, and is unable to join this growing community of gamers and play a very fun game. Many people agree that this game should be made available for mac users, here are just a few examples of people who support the cause:

quotes are from a forum site, here:

As you can see, these people any many more would like to see the game Maple Story available for the Mac computer system.

Opponents state that a Mac Maple story is not needed, referring to the fact that Mac users can run Boot camp or programs like Parallels to run windows and still play the game. But the problem with this argument is the cost for Mac users, Windows emulation programs like VM Ware and Parallels are very expensive (cost $80.00) plus the cost of a Windows XP disk (around $120.00). Even with Boot Camp (which is free, runs only on Intel Macs) you are still required to buy a Windows XP disk for Boot Camp to work. This is not fair to the Mac user because Maple Story is supposed to be a FREE game to play. It is unfair for Mac users to have to pay around 120.00 to 200.00 for a game that is free for everyone else.

Many game companies have chosen to make their games available for Mac. Games like World of Warcraft made by Bilzzard and Dofus created by Ankama have catered to the Mac user, even though this might have taken some extra work and time coding, these companies went the extra mile when thinking about their users. This games have gotten much of their popularity because of this extra effort that they put in to accommodate Mac users. I personally thank both of these companies for doing this.

2nd Goal: 1,000 signatures

UPDATE: After I collected around 1,000 signatures. I sent a customer support email to Nexon about non-compatibility for Macs. Here is the letter that I sent them:

Dear Whom It May Concern,

My name is [my real name]. I would like to submit a formal request to Nexon, the creators of the MMORPG Maplestory. I realize that you are very busy and don't have much time to read emails that are sent in to you. I'm am writing this letter because I am in the minority. I do not own a PC that runs Microsoft XP. I am a Mac user. I'm not here to complain, I bet you hear enough of that already. I just want our voice to be heard..the voice of the Mac gaming community.

There are thousands of people that would like to be able to play Maplestory, individuals that would be able to contribute and enrich the growing Maplestory community. These individuals would be paying customers earning your company valued profits, no different from the PC users already playing now. Unfortunately, the way things are, the Mac user is left out. They are unable to join this growing community of gamers and play a very fun game.

I urge you to take some time to look over this petition that I created. At the link below thousands of Mac users have signed showing their earnest support for porting Maplestory to the minority computer operation system.

In conclusion, I hope that you take into consideration what I have written. I know that your company has created a very successful videogame that many people around the world enjoy. I realize that the number of Mac users compared to everyone else is small. But the impact that you could make by creating a Mac compatible version of Maplestory would be enormous.

Thank you so much for your time,
Nexon game design fan,
[my real name].

This is the response that they sent back to me on my customer support ticket:

Greetings,

Thank you for contacting Nexon America's Customer Support team.

I am sorry that you are unable to play MapleStory on your Mac computer.

Unfortunately MAC is not compatible with MapleStory, please refer to our website Nexon.net for information if it will be compatible. I can also recommend that you can use the BootCamp program to run MapleStory, we cannot provide assistance with this program as it is not our product. Thank you and I apologize for the inconvenience.

Sincerely,

GM Raven
Nexon America, Inc.

Unfortunately, it seems that Nexon is not going to offer support to Mac users anytime soon. Adding further insult to injury I found out a free way to run windows on a mac (Intel Only) that does not require Boot Camp, VW Ware Fusion, Parallels, or a copy of Windows XP (Service Pack 2 or greater). The program is called WINE: Here is the step-by-step tutorial on how to install it:

But Wait, don't rush off thinking this your 'holy grail' solution. It is painful to say this, but even though WINE is an amazing way to run Windows programs. Wine does not work with Maplestory. WINE HQ has a compatible list of games that work with it but Maplestory (*sob*) it DOES NOT WORK with WINE! Maplestory received a 'Garbage' rating..this means that unless Maplestory is officially ported for the Mac OS there will be no Maplestory For Mac.

It was in the year 2000 when the game MapleStory was first introduced and released. People loved it back then, until it suddenly went quiet for some time. Even so, it had built a huge fan base.

This 2D massively multiplayer online (MMO) takes players to the entirely different and fascinating Maple World, where they defeat monsters, develop their characters’ skills and abilities, and even engage in chatting and trading.

Doesn’t it all sound exciting? Unfortunately, Mac users wouldn’t feel the excitement as the game is not officially supported by macOS.

MapleStory was originally released for Windows, but a Nintendo version was created called MapleStory DS and an iOS version for iPad and iPhone devices, called MapleStory M, followed.

Now if you are a Mac gamer, do not feel disheartened because there is actually a way to play MapleStory on Mac. We’ll teach you how below:

Cloud-Based Streaming Service: GeForce NOW for Mac

The easiest and best way to play MapleStory on a Mac is by using NVIDIA’s newest cloud-based streaming service: GeForce NOW for Mac. As of this writing, the service is currently available in beta in select countries in Europe and the United States.

With GeForce NOW for Mac, Mac gamers can play any games from Battle.net or Steam, including MapleStory and MapleStory 2. And regardless of what Mac version they are using, they can run any graphic-demanding game if they want to. So how is this possible?

No, this isn’t any form of witchcraft or sorcery. It’s made possible by the NVIDIA server sites spread across the United States and Europe, where these sites are responsible for handling the processes required by these games.

Maplestory Mac Os

Once you select a certain game that you want to play on your Mac, the impressive servers of NVIDIA will help you run the game remotely before sending the game to your Mac computer via the internet.

The best part about this service is that every game available on GeForce NOW for Mac has been optimized for streaming. That means Mac gamers can enjoy the best quality possible without having to experience any problems or tweak the graphics settings.

In addition, NVIDIA stores a cached version of each game available on Battle.net and Steam on their different servers, which means there’ll be minimal waiting time while the game downloads. After clicking the Play button, you should already be playing the game.

Then again, take note that the performance of the game will depend on your current internet speed and your distance to their servers. For example, if you have a high-speed internet and you live within 10 miles from a server site, then you will experience a better response than someone with a slow internet connection who is living in a remote area.

As of now, while the service is still in Beta mode, Mac gamers are already responding positively, despite internet speeds in most parts of the United Kingdom only reaching up to 200MB.

But due to the high levels of interest in NVIDIA’s service, interested Mac gamers will have to join a waiting list first to be able to test out GeForce NOW for Mac. As soon as they get access, they can easily sign into their Steam account, select MapleStory or MapleStory 2, and then hit that Play button. That’s it!

Apple Boot Camp Software

What if you don’t have a reliable or a high-speed internet connection to avail NVIDIA’s streaming service? There is still a way to play MapleStory on your Mac. However, it comes at a cost and it will also take a toll on your Mac’s performance and storage space.

Maplestory For Macintosh

But before you try this option, take note that this hasn’t been tested properly for MapleStory, hence you’ll mostly try it at your own risk.

If you want to give this option a go, you need to split your Mac hard drive so you can run Windows 10 on another partition using Apple’s Boot Camp software. You have to semi-permanently partition your hard disk drive and allocate a huge chunk of your Mac’s storage space to let this option work.

To ensure your success with this option, it is best that you provide the Boot Camp partition with as much storage space as possible because the game and the operating system will need it. MapleStory will require about 14GB of storage space, while Windows 10 will need around 20GB.

Of course, you can make changes in the size of the partition as soon as you have installed Windows 10, but be forewarned that doing so might trigger issues.

If you wish to proceed with this option so you can play MapleStory, you need to run Windows 10 on a Mac using Apple’s Boot Camp. Once installed, download and install Steam and MapleStory. Safe mode for mac. After this, game on!

VirtualBox

If the first two options don’t work or aren’t feasible for you, try using VirtualBox. Here’s what you should do:

Maplestory
  1. Download the latest version and its extension pack.
  2. Next, download the Windows 10 OS from the official Microsoft website.
  3. Install the VirtualBox VM.
  4. Once the installation is done, open it and click the New button to create a new virtual machine, which will be Windows 10.
  5. Give your new virtual machine a name, such as “Windows 10”. Click Continue.
  6. Follow the instructions until you are able to successfully create a new virtual machine.
  7. Click on the new virtual machine you created and click Run.
  8. You should now be able to run Windows 10 on your Mac. On your virtual machine, open Microsoft Edge and download MapleStory.
  9. Install it and you’re all set!

Conclusion

For quite a long time, Mac users were unable to play games like MapleStory. But thanks to the three options above, Mac users can finally participate in the action and enjoy all the games they want.

Maplestory For Mac

Before you go on and try any of these options, we suggest that you download and install Tweakbit Mac Repair first. This amazing tool will help clear valuable space and improve your Mac’s performance so you can enjoy playing MapleStory any time you want without experiencing lags or other speed-related issues.
